For this week, I want to share an exercise that naturally developed for me as I started writing daily intentions. It started with me just writing my goals. After doing that for a while, I realized that I also wanted to write down what I wanted to do that day that would move me toward my goals. And eventually, I realized that I also wanted to celebrate all I did the day before. (Instead of just looking at what I didn’t do — which is where our thoughts tend to focus and is a normal bias).
So, this developed into a routine practice that I call Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
It is so simple, yet so effective in helping us recognize all we do and our accomplishments, provide focus for the day ahead, while keep our big goals on the horizon. The goals and intentions for the day can be about anything — weight wellness, or other personal or professional goals you may have. Also, I write the big goals in present tense — as if they have already happened which helps me move the needle on the belief meter that they will happen and come to fruition.
Below is a link to the worksheet, as well as a link to an example completed worksheet. Feel free to download and use.
I encourage you to give it a try and see what you think. And if you do, I’d love to know how it went for you, if you will share down in the comments.
